Bible Reading: Luke 3.
Insight: “Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.” (Luk 3:8)
Insight one: How can you apprehend that a person has truly repented? It is not to see if one has been baptized, or to see if one has served zealous in the church, or has thoroughly read the Bible once, but to see if one’s deeds and words and attitude are in line with the gospel of Christ. God does not look at one’s appearance, but at one’s spiritual reality. A born-again Christian must show a real life and deeds to prove the repentance inside.
Insight two: After you have believed in the Lord and been baptized, can others recognize you as a person belongs to Christ? The faith in Christ is about the direct relationship between you and God, not the indirect relationship that depends on family ancestry and tradition. In God’s house, our spiritual identity is the Son of God, not the grandson, nor the prodigal son. Those who sincerely repent will reveal the life of Christ, bearing the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Thank God for Your amazing salvation. Please send the Holy Spirit to fill in me, to shine on me, to mold me, to renew me, to guide me, so every day I can live out Your image to testify Your glorious beauty. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen!
