\u300aToday’s spiritual meditation\u300b:  \u201cBut the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control . . . Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.\u201d (Gal 5:22-25)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meditation one: What kind of people can bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit? They are those people who obey the Holy Spirit and their lives will naturally “bear” the fruit of the Holy Spirit \u2013 a spiritual fruit. This spiritual fruit is not nine fruits of “love, joy, peace…”, but a single spiritual fruit contains nine rich tastes. This spiritual fruit does not rely on “practice”, or by imitation or deliberate fabrication. It is the good deeds of those who obey the Holy Spirit and have the Holy Spirit working in their hearts. The fruit of the Holy Spirit is not something people can “produce”, but can only be borne through the the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meditation two: What is one of the crises that today\u2019s Churches need to guard against? It is to abuse the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and even to manipulate the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It confines the power of the Holy Spirit to the speaking in tongues, healing, casting out demons, and performing miracles. It only emphasizes the outcome of the spiritual gifts but discounts the process. In fact, the real gift of the Holy Spirit is not upon external expressive outcome, but a matter of whether bearing the fruit of the Holy Spirit or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer: Thank God for Your great love that has saved me. Since I live by the Holy Spirit, I am willing to keep in step with the Holy Spirit in everything. In order to have in mind the concerns of God, in everything I do, I will not quench the Holy Spirit and am determined to not grieve the Holy Spirit. Please let Your Holy Spirit fill in me, correct me, renew me, mold me in every moment, and make my life bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
