《Today’s spiritual meditation》:  “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds.” (Jas 1:2)

Meditation one: Whenever there are trials of many kinds, why Christians still sing “Hallelujah” to praise the Lord? It is because that all the difficulties we encounter are allowed by our God. These things that happen to us are not to make us fall, but to soar aloft with wings; not to defeat us, but to give us a chance to win; not to make us weaker, but stronger. In fact, God allows you to encounter suffering or trials because He values you, and He will give you the strength to prevail.

Meditation two: What makes a Christian to live a life of “pure Joy”? It is only because that is the promise and command of Jesus Christ. The greatest joy often not comes from a favorable situation, but after hardships. The Lord Jesus said, “Your grief will turn to joy.” (Joh 16:20) The Bible does not ask us to blindly treat grief as joy, but to have a correct perspective  toward suffering and trials, and to understand that God surely have a noble purpose behind the trials.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for the pure joy that you have given to me during trials. Please help me so whatever the difficulty I may encounter, I will not be self-pity, will not have doubt, will not run away, but will joyfully face it. Lord! I want to fearlessly rely on You. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen!
