《Today’s spiritual meditation》:  “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1Th 5:18)

Meditation one: What does “give thanks in all circumstances” mean? Whether it is defeat or success, blessing or suffering, peace or danger, health or illness, even with all kinds of trials, persecutions, agony, etc., are included in “all circumstances”. In addition to sin, you must immediately confess your sins and ask God for forgiveness and cleansing, God’s will is through all of our experiences, and we must practice gratitude in all circumstances and rejoice in the Lord.

Meditation two: Why should a Christian “give thanks in all circumstances “? Because our Abba Father God is love, His love for us is even greater than the love of parents for their children. He said: “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” (Isa 49:15). Christians will also encounter worldly sufferings, disasters, and tribulations, but Christians believe that “in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” (Rom 8:28). Not only anything happened to us has God’s good pleasure, it also helps us to witness a better testimony for the Lord and accomplish more meaningful work.

Prayer: God heavenly Father, I thank You and praise You. In the season of thanksgiving, please help me to count Your grace, so that I can offer You my gratitude by faith in everything – thank You for giving me pain and joy, thank You for the comfort during despair; thank You for giving roadside roses, thank You for the thorns of rose; thank You for giving me the joy and sorrow, thank You for the hope for tomorrow. Regardless smooth or awkward, I want to thank You for the love that will never leave me. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
