《Today’s spiritual meditation》: “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” (Gal 5:13)
Meditation one: Have you ever heard of someone who is unwilling to become a Christian and one of the reasons is fear of losing freedom? In fact, trusting in Jesus does not mean losing freedom, but getting true freedom. The Lord Jesus died on the cross for our sins. The purpose is to save us from the power of sins, to free us from the bondage of sins, and to give us true peace. The Lord Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:32). He is the Lord of the way, the truth, and the life.
Meditation two: What is the principle of Christians exercising the true freedom? “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.” (1Co 10:23-24) “Whatever you do, serve one another humbly in love. Do it all for the glory of God.” (1Co 10:31)
Prayer: God heavenly Father, thank You. It is because of what You did so I can be free today in Your spirit. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Cor. 3:17). Please guide me so I will never use the freedom that Christ bought for me as an excuse to indulge my desires. Wherever I am, I am willing to serve people with Your love. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
