Insight:\u00a0\u00a0\u201cWoe to me if I do not preach the gospel!\u00a0\u201d (1Co 9:16b)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Insight one: What is the difference between the situations of being a disciple and being saved? Salvation is through the cross of Christ, we passively receive salvation. Discipleship is different. It must be your proactive choice, as Jesus said, “If anyone comes to me…”. A person who can “set apart for the gospel of God” (Rom 1:1) means that person can hear the calling of God’s love. Those who responded to the calling of the Lord expressed clearly that they would follow the Lord all their lives, be willing to live for Christ, and suffer for Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Insight two: Can we say what Paul said, “Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel”? For Paul, preach the gospel is his part, and there is nothing to boast. He preached the gospel for the Lord, not an enthusiasm or sacrifice. And it was entirely inspired by the love of Christ, which made him to “be compelled to” act. Preach the gospel is a responsibility for every Christian. If you don\u2019t preach the gospel, you will be ungrateful and fail the life-giving love of Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer: Praise You, dear Savior, because You have bought us with a price, and made us children of God. Please shine on me so that I can understand Your heart, not just enjoy Your grace, but I want to evangelize Your grace. Let those around me see the true light through my testimony, enter into Your truth, and share the good news of Christ.
