《今日靈修默想》：「你們要愛惜光陰，用智慧與外人交往。你們的言語要常常帶著和氣，好像用鹽調和，就可知道該怎樣回答各人。」（西4:5-6）
默想一：基督徒活在世上的生活態度是什麼？是「入世」也是「出世」。雖然我們的國度不屬這世界，但我們被主差遣進入這世界作光作鹽。我們活在世上但被主分別為聖，不效法這世界，乃要心意更新來見証主。
默想二：基督徒的言行有沒有見證，與傳福音的果效有關嗎？有！我們的言語「要常常」帶著和氣有禮，溫和謙卑，不狂傲、不輕浮、不放肆。乃要像鹽那樣的功效，能調和人際間的關係，是製造和睦而不是紛爭，是造就人而不是毀謗人。
禱告：天父上帝，謝謝祢造我的口。但我知道我的舌頭經常冒犯祢並得罪人。求祢差遣聖靈充滿我，管理我的口，勒住我的舌頭，好讓我所講的每一句話都能造就人，滿有基督馨香之氣，榮耀祢的名。奉主耶穌基督的名禱告，阿們！
《Today’s spiritual meditation》: “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” (Col 4:5-6)
Meditation one: What is a Christian’s attitude while living in this world? We are “worldliness” and also “aloofness”. Although our kingdom is not part of this world, we are sent into this world by the Lord to be salt and light. We live in this world but are sanctified by the Lord. We do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds in order to testify our Lord.
Meditation two: Is there a relationship between the effectiveness of evangelism and the testimony of Christians’ words and deeds? Yes! Our words must “always” be kind and courteous, gentle and humble, not arrogant, not frivolous, not foolhardy. It is to be like the seasoning of salt, to reconcile among people’s relationships, to create harmony and not to dispute, and to build up one another instead of to slander.
Prayer: God Heavenly Father, thank You for creating my mouth. But I know that my tongue often offends You and affronts people. Please send the Holy Spirit to fill in me, to control my mouth, to bridle my tongue, so that every word I say can edify people with the sweet savor of Christ and glorify Your name. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen!
