《今日靈修默想》：「頌讚和咒詛從一個口裡出來，我的弟兄們，這是不應當的。」（雅3:10）
默想一：基督徒為什麼不能輕看舌頭？因為它是控制我們生活的關鍵，也和我們的生命有關。當人能夠勒住自己舌頭的時候，就能夠勒住自己的整個人。一個人的言語可以準確地測量出他的屬靈溫度。真有基督生命的人，不會說出惡毒的話來。他會自然地發出讚美，說出造就人的話。
默想二：為什麼在教會裡要嚴禁一切咒詛或毀謗的話？因為當你咒詛弟兄姊妹時，你就是不尊重神所造而帶有神形像的人，也等於咒詛神。在教會裡任何言語的放肆，是不尊耶穌基督爲元首，也不合乎聖徒的體統。我們的神是聖潔的，我們務要活出聖潔。
禱告：阿爸父神，感謝袮造我一張口，求袮使用我的口，使“汙穢的言語一句不可出口，只要隨事說造就人的好話，叫聽見的人得益處”（弗4:29）。我知道舌頭很難制伏，但我相信“靠著那加給我力量的，凡事都能做”（腓4:13）。願我心中所存的意念，口中所說的每一句話，都在祢聖靈的恩膏下造就人，並榮耀祢的名。奉主耶穌寶貴的聖名禱告。阿們！
《Today’s spiritual meditation》: “Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.” (Jas 3:10)
Meditation one: Why shouldn’t Christians regard their tongues lightly? It is because tongues are the keys of controlling our daily lives and are related to our spirits as well. When a person can bridle the tongue, that person can bridle his/her whole body. A person’s word can accurately signal the person’s spiritual status. A person who has the life of Christ will not speak malicious words. The person will naturally give praise and speak word that is good for building others up.
Meditation two: Why do we want to keep our tongues from all curses or slanders in a church? Because when you curse your brothers and sisters, you clearly do not respect the person God created in the likeness of Him, and that is equivalent to cursing our God. The arrogance of any speech in the church is showing disrespect for Jesus Christ as the head of the church and is not proper among saints. Our God is holy, and we must live out the holiness.
Prayer: Abba father, thank You for creating my mouth. Please use my mouth, and “do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.“ (Eph 4:29) I know that the tongue is hard to tame, but I believe that “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.“ (Pro 4:13) May the thought of my heart and every word out of my mouth, can build others up through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and glorify Your name. I pray in the precious name of the Lord Jesus. Amen!
