《Today’s spiritual meditation》: “So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, ‘Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.’” (Rev 10:9)
Meditation one: What is the cause that prevents the spiritual growth among Christians in these days? One is that there is no regular Bible reading habit, just like eating without regular daily meals, which is not possible to grow. Another issue is Bible reading without meditation, which fails to transform the words of God into daily life. When reading the Bible, ask the Holy Spirit to shine on you and let the scripture become lively and speak to you. The Word of God requires us to pursuit proactively, because “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2Ti 3:16).
Meditation two: Why do God’s words have two opposite flavors after eating? For those who are willing to repent, they can experience the richness and sweetness of the Word of God. But for those who have heard the gospel and refuse to repent, the Word of God becomes a stumbling block, accusation, and condemnation for them. The result of rejecting the gospel will face the judgment of God.
Prayer: Thank God, because of Your Word, we can appreciate the beauty of creation, salvation, and revelation. Please teach me so when I read the Bible, I should not read my favored scriptures only, but should do what You said in the Bible. Your Word is the soul and the life. Please help me and I will listen to you and be willing to follow. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
