Bible Reading: Hebrews 6
Insight: “Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death” (Heb 6:1)
Insight one: What is the lifetime goal that a Christian should strive for? It is to have Christ as the benchmark of life: towards the direction and purpose the Lord wants for the entire lifetime. No longer live for yourself, but live for the Lord. Love what the Lord loves, say what the Lord says, see what the Lord sees, think about what the Lord thinks, do what the Lord does, and be a person who is completely consented by the Lord. Have the same mindset as Christ in all things, and live out His beauty.
Insight two: Isn’t it so important to build a good foundation of belief? Yes! Since that is the beginning of every belief. But if there is no spiritual growth, it indicates that this belief has no life. Only because there is life, there is growth. If the Christian’s spiritual life does not make every effort to press onto perfection, it is possible to recoil back to a wasteland of thorns and thistles. The Lord Jesus said: “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” We cannot become as holy, great, and perfect as our heavenly Father, but we can continue to renew through the Holy Spirit until Christ is formed in our hearts.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I praise You because You are the God full of grace and mercy. Thank You for Your words, so that my faith has roots and foundation in Your truth. Help me, I am willing to seek You, come near to You, and love You every day. I pray in the precious name of the Lord Jesus, Amen!
