Bible Reading: Matthew 23.
Insight: “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (Mat 23:12)
Insight one: Do you know that serving God is a glorious trust? But we must always examine the motivation of our ministry. Let us remember the lesson, “Exalting ourselves” is the path of Satan’s fall (Isa 14:12-14); “Humble Yourself” is the way to Christ’s glory. For Jesus, greatness comes from humble service.
Insight two: Are all the things you are doing, pursuing, dreaming, or striving are for the sake of your own glory? Or is it for the glory of the God who gives you the power? As disciples of Christ, whatever we do, wherever we are, we should serve others with the same humble as we are serving God, including the least of our brothers.
Prayer: Thank God, through Jesus Christ’s humility, we are saved. From time to time, I was complacent because of my fervent ministry or a little knowledge of the Bible. Sometimes I paid attention to outward appearances but overlooked inner godliness. Sometimes I was offended by others’ shortcomings but failed to examine myself. I ask You to forgive my arrogance, and I want to live out Your humility, holiness, and glory in the light of the Holy Spirit. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
