《Today’s spiritual meditation》:  “And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.” (2Th 3:13)

Meditation one: Isn’t it applauded by everyone when people receive well deserved rewards by doing good things? Why Christians are asked to never tire of doing what is good? The implication of good deeds holds a major difference between Christians and average people. Christians’ good deeds come from a natural expression of inner life, and everything they do will be responsible to the Lord: not to please people but to please God; not to win the hearts of people but to win the heart of God.

Meditation two: Why must Christians never tire of doing what is good? It is because often when you work so hard and others do nothing, you inevitably will induce an unfairness feeling. The goodness of doing what is good is to do what should be done in the eyes of God. Whether something is important or trivial, we do it for the Lord, not for people. You will still be willing to do even you suffer losses, because your losses are for the sake of the Lord. We are the vessels in the hands of God, so we seek for the fulfillment of God’s will, not for our obtaining of good recompenses.

Prayer: Thank You God, for we are Your handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Eph 2:10) Please help me to trust in Your great power and strength, so I can glorify Your name and overcome evil with good in all things. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, Amen!
