《Jesus Crucifixion Week spiritual meditation》: “There they crucified him, and with him two others—one on each side and Jesus in the middle.” (John 19:18)

Meditation one: Jesus Christ, he is the King of kings from beginning to end.  But why did he wear the crown of thorns, and carried a heavy cross toward Golgotha? He carried our sins and became the scapegoat, quietly, walked to the land of slaughter. He was guiltless, but He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed.

Meditation two: Why was there blood and water flowing from the Lord Jesus’ side? With no blood, how can my sin be forgiven? The stream of His blood is the source of my redemption.  To remember and be thankful to the Lord’s grace, so I fall down under the cross: The cross is the beginning of my life, the destination of my life, and the cross is the sign of my life, the altar of my life.

Prayer: God heavenly Father, thank You for Your salvation accomplished through Jesus Christ on the cross. What a sinner I am, it is I who should be nailed on, but Christ died for me when I was still a sinner. Lord, I am willing to use my entire life, whatever I do, to live for the glory of You in return for Your love on the cross. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
