《今日靈修默想》：「惟獨長大成人的才能吃乾糧；他們的心竅習練得通達，就能分辨好歹了。」（來 5:14 ）
《Today’s spiritual meditation》: “But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” (Heb 5:14 )
Meditation one: If a spiritual life sets its full score at ten, what is the score of your current spiritual status? Is it growing or regression or idling? Maybe your Bible and theological knowledges have grown a lot, but the question is, are your faith and life balanced? Have you demonstrated your faith through your deeds? Is your inside consistent with what you appear to be? If knowledge puffs up, it becomes useless to one’s spiritual life.
Meditation two: What does “be mature” mean in the Bible? It does not refer to height and age, but to spiritual maturity. This spiritual life not only can distinguish right from wrong and realize how to exercise faith through daily life, but also make spiritual growth by obeying the Word of God. There is no shortcut to the growth of the spirit. You have to be willing to devote time and strength to pursue growth.
Prayer: Thank God for giving me Your words. Lord, please give me a longing soul and a willing heart to obey Your words, so I can continue to grow every day. Please also teach me how to live a consistent spiritual life. I am willing to commit “spiritual maturity” as my goal to strive for throughout my life time. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ,
